The Pratt Museum will conduct "Finding Home in Homer: Partnering to End Youth Homelessness" - a collaborative project and exhibit that focuses on homelessness among youth. In partnership with school district and community liaisons, the museum will identify and work with 15-20 youth (high school through age 25) who have experienced homelessness. The youth will be artists-in-residence at the museum, creating original work about homelessness with guidance from mentor artists. The participating youth will define their own interpreted exhibit about the causes, barriers, assumptions, lived experiences, stigmas, and possible solutions to homelessness. A culminating exhibition and related programs will share the youths' perspectives and artistic interpretations and include a call to action for community members and other visitors to be part of the solution.
