Historic Saranac Lake

Log Number: IGSM-251454-OMS-22

Historic Saranac Lake will undertake schematic design for new interpretive exhibits presenting Saranac Lake’s history as an international center for tuberculosis treatment, public health, and scientific research. The project team will plan exhibits for an expanded museum campus that will include the Saranac Laboratory Museum and the recently acquired home of Dr. E. L. Trudeau. Based on a recently developed Museum Interpretive Plan, the museum will partner with an exhibit designer, exhibit developer, graphic designer, and consulting humanities scholars to produce a schematic design for the first phase of the exhibit design and development process. The museum expansion will incorporate a broader, more inclusive history of the geographic area, serving to build community among rural residents underserved by cultural programs.
