Colorado State University (Gregory Allicar Museum of Art)

Log Number: IGSM-251799-OMS-22

The Gregory Allicar Museum of Art at Colorado State University will address key components of its strategic plan by impacting teaching campus-wide, accommodating faculty and student participation in museum activities, and improving care and access for the museum’s collections. The project will focus on standardizing storage and mounting of 717 works on paper and photographs that are frequently requested for teaching, research, and exhibition purposes. Project activities will include an item-by-item survey of target works; a two-day workshop with a paper and photograph conservator on conservation standard matting and mounting; mat cutting, assembly, and mounting; and rehousing of target objects by category and standard size. Staff will teach professional collections management skills to paid student interns assisting with the project and will conduct ongoing internal evaluation to track progress and efficacy.
