Woodford Mansion

Log Number: IGSM-252133-OMS-22

The Woodford Mansion will gain intellectual control over the archival records in its collection related to the history of the house, a National Historic Landmark building. The archives contain the original records of the museum founder, Naomi Wood, along with photographs of house interiors, architectural drawings, events documentation, newspaper clippings, and correspondence. The museum will hire a temporary part-time project archivist to catalog and rehouse archival records and create a records management plan. The museum will engage a contract registrar to work with the curator and site manager to conduct research in the archives to identify primary sources that document acquisition and deaccession histories. The project will result in the production of a finding aid to improve access to the collection for local researchers as well as for the general public through online portals and the museum’s website.
