National Trust for Historic Preservation (Chesterwood)

Log Number: IGSM-253261-OMS-23

Chesterwood, a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will purchase and install museum-quality storage cabinets for objects and archival files, and allow space for scholarly research in the newly created Chesterwood Collections and Research Center. As the former home, studio, and gardens of sculptor Daniel Chester French (1850-1931), Chesterwood has the largest collection of art by French, in addition to works by other artists, historic documents, and photographs. The project will maximize newly renovated space through the installation of a high-density mobile shelving system, creating optimal and efficient storage that will ensure the longevity of the collection and increase accessibility for students, artists, researchers, curators, members of the general public, and staff.
