National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida (Ximenez Fatio House Museum)

The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum will professionally repair, clean, and restore eight hand-woven, hand-dyed coverlets dating from the 1820's-1840's and reframe nine 19th-century samplers and embroidery with acid-free paper backing and UV glass for the protection, conservation, and preservation of these items. The results of this project will be coverlets that have been repaired, restored, and cleaned, as well as protectively framed samplers that can be restored for museum exhibitions for the education and enjoyment of all visitors. Conserving these pieces of the collection is part of a larger preservation project that has been launched to conserve and preserve the museum complex in preparation for the 2026 Sesquicentennial of the Declaration of Independence.
