Muncie Children's Museum

Log Number: IGSM-257539-OMS-25

The Muncie Children's Museum will fabricate a new exhibit, Construction Zone, for children aged three to ten. It will provide opportunities to learn about various construction trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, architecture, and interior design. While having fun and building, children will be practicing the skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creative problem solving–skills important for success in the classroom and foundational to career readiness. This exhibit’s skills development support East Central Indiana’s goal to increase the educational attainment level of its residents by creating a culture of education. The Construction Zone will provide children with the knowledge to understand how a building is constructed, what type of careers are needed in the construction industry, and practice transportable skills that will help them in the classroom as well as the workplace.
