Log Number: IGSM-257640-OMS-25
Fort Trumbull State Park Museum, a division of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, will update its existing interactive computer program that educates the public on how SONAR is used to detect enemy submarines, making it more user friendly for today’s families and individuals of a diverse range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds. The new exhibit interactive will have a dual screen design to mimic an actual SONAR display console used when the site was active as the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Updating this exhibit feature will provide opportunities to engage youth and their families in learning about the history of Fort Trumbull during the Cold War era and learn technical information about SONAR and how to use it to locate underwater objects while also using critical thinking skills to solve a problem.
