North Country Children's Museum

Log Number: IGSM-260032-OMS-26

The North Country Children’s Museum will create the Adirondack Bobsled STEM exhibit, a permanent hands-on installation that introduces children to engineering and physics through design, testing, and experimentation. Children aged 12 and under will build and race miniature bobsleds on timed tracks while exploring concepts such as motion, friction, weight distribution, and iterative design. Developed in collaboration with an exhibit design firm, the installation will become part of the museum’s STEAM Power exhibit and will serve families, school groups, and community visitors throughout northern New York. Clarkson University’s Institute for STEM Education will support related programming through student internships and engineering activities connected to the exhibit, helping expand its educational impact beyond the exhibit floor. This project benefits children and families while celebrating the culture and innovation of the rural North Country region.
