Museum of Seminole County History

The Museum of Seminole County History will prioritize strengthening preservation infrastructure, expanding reliable access to historically significant collections, and building sustainable internal capacity for long-term collections care. Project activities will include acquiring and installing fire-rated archival cabinets, training of staff and volunteers in archival handling practices, conducting a structured inventory of all priority record series and flagging items for rehousing, rehousing the most fragile and highest-priority records, and updating inventory data. The project will involve the staff and volunteers completing structured training in archival handling practices such as rehousing procedures, labeling standards, and location management. The outcome of project activities will be reduced physical deterioration risks and improved organization and retrievability of 1,200 linear feet of historically significant government records.
