Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum

The Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum will conserve and treat Mina Miller Edison’s wedding dress and redisplay it at the museum. With the assistance of conservation consultants, the museum will complete the conservation and treatment of the wedding dress. Project activities include object documentation, cleaning, the fabrication of replacement dress parts where needed, the installation of garment supports, repair of any missing or damaged elements, mounting, and final documentation. A significant object in the museum’s collection, the dress will be returned to public display for visitors at the conclusion of the project. The primary beneficiaries of this project are the museum visitors.
