Oconee History Museum

The Oconee History Museum will improve management and access to its artifact collection. Following recommendations from their Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) program report, the museum will purchase archival and environmental monitoring supplies and equipment to support project activities including inventorying, cataloging, reorganizing, and rehousing approximately 5,000 objects in its collection. The collection includes documents, tools, agricultural materials, textile mill items, and photographs that illustrate the history of the towns and people of Oconee County, South Carolina. The project will result in enhanced preservation and improved physical and intellectual access to the collection, benefiting museum staff, volunteers, researchers, and visitors.
