Gettysburg Museum of History

The Gettysburg Museum of History will catalog and preserve more than 2,000 items, including wartime letters, personal correspondence, photographs, military maps, newspapers, and documents associated with Richard Winters and the soldiers of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, during World War II. Museum staff will hire a part-time collections assistant, participate in training, and purchase collections management software and archival materials. The project will result in at least 2,000 searchable catalog records, the stabilization and rehousing of fragile documents using archival-quality storage materials, and the establishment of a collections management infrastructure that significantly improves access for researchers, educators, and the public visiting Gettysburg.
