Wayne County Historical Society
Log Number: IGSM-260708-OMS-26
The Wayne County Historical Society will catalog and digitize its collection. Project activities include employing a college intern to document collection metadata, improving documentation of items associated with the people and events represented in the source materials. As artifacts are handled, they will be placed in acid-free storage enclosures to improve the condition, management, and long-term preservation of the collections. Collection records will be uploaded to a digital asset management system and made available to the public through an online platform, increasing access to valuable rural Ozark cultural heritage. Project results will include improved collections care, documentation, management, preservation, and public access. Primary beneficiaries include the 11,000 residents of Wayne County and online users around the world who will have access to the museum’s collections.
