Society of Black Archaeologists

The Society of Black Archaeologists (SBA), working within the Los Angeles and St Croix communities, will identify current opportunities and challenges in preserving place-based histories though community engagement, assisting in ongoing local efforts for access and stewardship, and developing and disseminating best practices for future community-rooted work. The project aims to produce several key deliverables: a comprehensive white paper on community librarying practices, an ArcGIS StoryMap featuring oral histories from St. Croix, and a digital book compiling photographs from locally hosted workshops.
