The Louisiana State University School of Information Studies, in collaboration with Kent State University, will assist Vietnam-era veterans in documenting their military service records. This project will develop a sustainable program for libraries, archives, and Veteran Service Organizations to support Vietnam-era veterans in creating, locating, and preserving their personal and official service records. The project will culminate in a collaborative planning meeting with key stakeholders to design an accessible framework for libraries and archives to host Vietnam-era veterans specific documentation events. The final program will include training materials, event guidelines, and preservation strategies to ensure long-term accessibility of veterans' records. The project will serve as a model for broader veteran documentation efforts and contribute to making libraries and archives more veteran-inclusive spaces. Findings and resources will be disseminated through professional conferences, academic publications, and digital platforms to maximize impact and reach.
