The University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies will examine the feasibility of integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into children’s maker-based learning experiences in public libraries. The project will provide library professionals with curriculum and training to 1) improve children’s informal STEM and participatory learning experiences and 2) enhance children’s AI literacy through maker-based learning activities. Through this initiative, public libraries will become catalysts for innovative learning and offer scalable programs that empower the next generation to use artificial intelligence.
