Universidad De Puerto Rico en Cayey

Log Number: LG-260261-OLS-26

The University of Puerto Rico at Cayey will implement a project designed to develop a model for sustainable, community-engaged, digital collections management for use at institutions with limited financial resources, digital infrastructure, and technical support. This project will build on scholarship on minimal computing to preserve and build access to a collection of born-digital materials on hurricane María and other recent emergencies in Puerto Rico. This project, based at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey, will partner with the Víctor Pons Gil library at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey, library and digital humanities consultants, and the Digital Library of the Caribbean. The project outputs will include the preservation of and access to copies of the collection; a free online access platform; replicable process documentation including guides and workflows; and a public presentation showcasing the project to scholarly, professional, and community audiences.
