The Department of Cultural Affairs- New Mexico State Library will use funds to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2013-2017, which reflect the purposes and priorities of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). In New Mexico, specific goals address 1) Supporting the libraries of New Mexico and their capacity to address user needs; 2) Supporting the increase of literacy skills and providing information access in a variety of formats for New Mexicans' personal, educational, and professional reading needs to enable them to participate fully in their community and wider society; 3) Strengthening relationships between NMSL and the New Mexico library community as well as fostering collaboration and cooperation within the library community; and 4) Providing library services to visually impaired, rural, homebound, and underserved New Mexico residents, while exploring new models for delivery of services.
