The North Dakota State Library will use funds to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2013-2017, which reflect the purposes and priorities of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). The goals are that the State Library: 1) place a strong importance on opportunities for the learner and supports providing engaging experiences in libraries that prepare the state's citizenry to be full participants in local communities and global society; 2) shall undertake tasks that promote North Dakota libraries as strong community anchors that enhance knowledge, civic engagement, cultural opportunities, and economic vitality; 3) will support the acquisition, maintenance and use of quality library collections and encourages the use of technology to facilitate discovery of information; and 4) seek to provide programs and services that sustain or increase access to information and ideas for the citizens of North Dakota.
