CNMI Joeten-Kiyu Public Library

Joeten Kiyu Public Library, the designated State Library Administrative Agency for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will fund bookmobile staff, collections, and technology to serve youth and adults in remote villages around CNMI that may face transportation barriers to the main library in Saipan. The project will bring bookmobile services to schools, youth centers, the local Aging Center, and Head Start centers. These library services will bridge print and digital literacy efforts and extend the summer reading program to outlying areas, as well as extend resources from the National Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Grant funds will also support one staff member's attendance to the Pacific Islands Association of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (PIALA) conference.
