The Maryland State Library will use funds under the CARES Act to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus; to expand digital network access, purchase internet accessible devices, and provide technical support services.  They will continue to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2018-2022. In Maryland, specific goals address 1) strengthening libraries’ institutional capacity through collaborative continuing education and staff development opportunities; 2) helping libraries improve access to information for their users; 3) helping libraries develop lifelong learning opportunities to improve users’ formal education and general knowledge and skills; and 4) helping libraries foster economic and employment development opportunities in order to facilitate job growth in Maryland.
