The Science and Environmental Park of Forsyth County will create an outdoor, interactive “learning campus” for its Outdoor Science Park, an informal science education resource for families, educators, and students in the growing Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. Each of five outdoor “pods” contain about fifteen separate exhibits where visitors will be able to demonstrate and experience basic principles of light, sound, color, motion, and energy. These stations, which will include speaking tubes, whisper dishes, wind instruments, simple machines, and a DNA jungle gym, will provide a hands-on way for visitors to explore and experience scientific principles at work. A central source water feature will connect several pods to demonstrate different issues including storm water, erosion, and water quality.
