Boise Art Museum

In response to the audience feedback collected over the past several years revealing a demand and need for exhibitions focusing on culturally diverse artists and artworks, the Boise Art Museum will develop and present two exhibitions featuring artwork from the museum’s permanent collection. The exhibitions, Eastern Traditions - Western Expressions and Origins, Objects of Material Culture, will be designed to increase the community’s understanding of diverse art forms from Asia, Africa, Oceania, Mesoamerica, and North America, and generate access to and understanding of the museum’s permanent collection while providing cultural experiences not traditionally available to the community. Both exhibitions will include new in-gallery interpretive components to engage audiences by transforming the traditional viewing experience into a participatory experience.
