Indiana University (Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology)

Log Number: MA-249313-OMS-21

The Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology will purchase new compact storage for the museum’s extensive ethnographic collections consisting of over 30,000 objects and 18,000 photographs representing cultures from each of the world's inhabited continents. Project staff will include 12 paid student positions to assist with un-packing and rehousing the collection into the new storage system. The new state-of-the-art compact storage will mitigate the collection’s mold issues caused by the previously inadequate storage space. Rehousing the collections will also help facilitate a complete inventory, which will result in easier access for researchers and an enhanced visitor experience.
