San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo will bring Wild at Heart, an inquiry-based social-emotional learning program for elementary school students, to more than 11,000 kindergarten and 1st grade students from Title I schools over a three-year period, at no cost to the schools. They will implement the program in conjunction with the opening of the San Diego Zoo’s new Children’s Zoo, which is designed around a guiding theme of inspiring empathy in children. It will offer a unique experience to students not presently available in San Diego County schools. The students will participate in a Wild at Heart classroom program at their schools and in a guided field trip to the San Diego Zoo.
