Huntsville Botanical Garden

The Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG) will use funds to modernize its greenhouse and nursery infrastructure by installing integrated environmental control systems to improve plant propagation, growing conditions, and collections care. The project will be phased over two years and includes upgrading heating, cooling, and automated controls across multiple greenhouses. The upgrades will improve living collections' health, safety, and efficiency, and expand the capacity to grow more plants in-house. Expected outcomes include enhanced care for HBG’s plant collections, greater support for conservation and research efforts, and increased public engagement through more robust displays and educational programming. Beneficiaries include HBG staff, volunteers, partner institutions, and the annual visitors who enjoy HBG’s gardens and educational outreach.
