University of Nebraska (Great Plains Art Museum)

The Great Plains Art Museum at the University of Nebraska will use grant funds to purchase a compact storage system to house their collections. Informed by a Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) survey, the project will include the following activities: collections will be moved to a secure temporary storage space, staff will remove old storage equipment, and a contractor will install a new storage system, rehouse material and capture digital images of collections, and update collections database to record new locations. Upon completion, the project will ensure the long-term care of the museum’s artwork and will enable staff to utilize the collection for future exhibitions and programs.
