South Carolina Military Museum

The South Carolina Military Museum will install new exhibitions featuring stories about daily life of soldiers and sailors from South Carolina. Improvements will include new displays about medicine, training, humor and satire, food and religion, transportation, and current operations. The museum will also develop interactive elements to the exhibit to appeal to K-12 students, including a flight simulator and hands-on children’s activities. As a result of the project, the museum will gain more space for the display of artifacts and an exhibition that appeals to visitors of all ages, especially families of veterans. The museum will also partner with a contractor to develop an app to help visitors with visual and hearing impairments to fully experience the exhibit.
