Moosehead Marine Museum

The Moosehead Marine Museum will undertake a project to complete phase three of a multi-phase effort to restore the historic Steamboat Katahdin (The Kate), which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. IMLS funds will be used to perform the following activities: haul-out, sandblasting and painting the hull, and making repairs to the hull and propeller. Once restoration is complete, The Kate will be able to safely offer cruises on Moosehead Lake to museum visitors.
