Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg, in partnership with iCivics, will develop Revolutionary Kids—a multimedia project featuring eight animated videos and eight 22-page digital graphic novels designed for elementary classrooms—to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. By highlighting uplifting narratives of our shared American experience through the relatable eyes of 1770s youth, this project refocuses on what unites us, while fostering respectful civil dialogue around our nation’s founding. This project will result in the development of flexible instructional toolkits, web profiles, and field trip guides that seamlessly bridge digital learning with immersive onsite discovery. The primary audience includes the nation’s 1.9 million elementary educators, their 38.5 million students, and the students and families who visit each year. Outcomes for this project include transforming the complexities of the 1770s into highly engaging, experiential learning tools for millions of youth.
