Tower Grove Park
Log Number: MA-259583-OMS-26
Tower Grove Park will strengthen the conservation and long-term care of its collection of 7,900 trees by acquiring a spider lift to enable safe, efficient, year-round maintenance. The new equipment will supplement the more limited use of a bucket truck and reduce the need for staff to climb trees to perform pruning and dead-wooding requirements. In addition to purchasing the new lift, the museum will train forestry staff in its operation; conduct enhanced tree inspections and routine and structural pruning; update the digital arboretum inventory; and implement related tree care activities including removals, plant health care, soil conditioning, and replanting. The project will support improved stewardship of the collections, operational efficiency, and a safer environment for staff and visitors.
