Zekelman Holocaust Center

The Zekelman Holocaust Center will develop a sustainable exhibition model to engage its community more effectively by implementing a three-year cycle of special exhibitions and integrated interpretive programming. Led by the museum’s professional staff, the project will support the presentation of six major visiting exhibitions, augmented by artifacts, oral testimonies, and personal items from the museum’s own collections to provide regional relevance for visitors. The project team will develop a library of educational materials, including curriculum-aligned teacher guides and recorded programs for each exhibition, all of which will be permanently integrated into operations for ongoing use. By applying a more strategic model for selecting and presenting traveling exhibitions, the project will strengthen institutional stability by cultivating repeat visitation and provide visitors with a more nuanced understanding of the Holocaust and its impact.
