Adirondack Experience
Log Number: MA-259791-OMS-26
The Adirondack Experience will implement the design phase for a new 6,000-square-foot exhibition to tell the story of how the logging industry shaped the Adirondack region. Museum staff will lead the 12-month project in collaboration with external architects, exhibit and graphic designers, and content specialists. The project team will create a plan to reinterpret and reinstall an existing and outdated smaller exhibit by incorporating a visitor-centered approach and multi-sensory, interactive experiences. An external evaluator will conduct formative evaluation throughout the project, testing exhibition messages, design concepts, and proposed experiences. Scheduled to open in 2028, the exhibition is intended to improve the educational experience for the museum’s 50,000 annual visitors, especially family groups with children.
