Computer History Museum

The Computer History Museum will improve the physical and intellectual control of its collections by completing a full inventory of over 40,000 artifacts located in its climate-controlled off-site storage facility. The museum will hire a project registrar to work full-time on the three-year project, with the assistance of volunteers and other staff. Project activities will include creating descriptive and administrative metadata and digitally capturing each artifact for upload to the museum's recently enhanced online collections system. The inventory will lay the groundwork for future critical collections projects, and it will also facilitate digital access to these historical objects for broad audiences including students, academics, journalists, engineers, and other museum professionals.
