Fort Ticonderoga
Log Number: MA-260092-OMS-26
Fort Ticonderoga in New York will implement a series of programs and exhibits to deepen multigenerational engagement with the American Revolution as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary. The museum will hire an assistant curator to work with staff to coordinate project activities, which will include a conference on the 1776 Battle of Valcour Island, three scholarly seminars on the American Revolution, and a teacher institute for K–12 educators. The project will also add two object-based exhibitions to a series of special exhibitions funded through an earlier IMLS grant award. The comprehensive project will support speaker travel and honoraria for participating scholars and historians, and the museum will select 24 educators to receive scholarships to the teacher institute and provide stipends for guest faculty. Onsite public programming will also be presented virtually and designed to reach rural communities.
