Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust
Log Number: MA-260242-OMS-26
The Museum of Jewish Heritage will enhance the accessibility and longterm preservation of its oral history collections to strengthen public understanding of Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. Museum staff will initiate a comprehensive inventory and rehousing of audiovisual materials in two collections focusing on Holocaust survivor testimonies and interviews. The museum will hire a collections researcher with appropriate expertise to reorganize and catalog materials and prepare them for uploading to the collections management system. The project team will engage both a specialized external vendor to digitize materials as well as freelance translators to transcribe testimonies recorded in other languages. The files will be uploaded to a searchable online repository, making them freely available to benefit broad audiences including students, scholars, and researchers.
