Shelburne Museum

The Shelburne Museum will improve the management and accessibility of its collections by migrating its database to web-based software and launching an online collections portal. The museum will recruit a project cataloger to support the collections department and assist with project activities over a two-year period. The project team will purchase collections management software and conduct data cleanup to facilitate migration to the new system. Staff members will assist with establishing design and website needs for the online portal, which will initially include American paintings, folk art, wildfowl decoys, quilts, and needlework samplers. Replacing an aging system will benefit the museum, and the project will make collections easily accessible over time for scholars, students, educators, and the public.
