Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County

Log Number: MA-260323-OMS-26

The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County will develop a new experiential and interactive gallery, along with educational programming and methods to identify and combat hatred and intolerance. Working with a design consultant and external fabricators, the museum staff will coordinate the installation of seven thematic areas integrating new lighting and graphics with modern technology, authenticated artifacts, interactive displays, and immersive reflection spaces. The project team will also work with specialized consultants to develop new antisemitism curriculum materials aligned with New York state standards and initiate updated training for docent volunteers. The museum will actively engage students, educators, community leaders, and community members in a broad effort to encourage critical thinking about prejudice, civic responsibility, and modern-day antisemitism.
