Idaho Museum of Natural History

Log Number: MA-260407-OMS-26

The Idaho Museum of Natural History at Idaho State University will complete phase two of an ongoing project to improve the care and preservation of its Ray J. Davis Herbarium. The museum will contract with an external vendor to purchase, ship, and install a high-density mobile storage system and new cabinets and worktops in a newly created space to more appropriately house the collection of over 82,500 plant and lichen specimens. Museum staff will move the collections into the new space, which will enhance the preservation of the delicate specimens, increase storage space for the herbarium by almost 20 percent, and open more gallery space for exhibitions due to the relocation.
