Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
Log Number: MA-260554-OMS-26
The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center will complete onsite conservation for painted works displayed in high-traffic, public-facing areas where proximity to visitors, routine operations, and environmental exposure threaten their long-term preservation. In response to the findings of a conservation assessment, the center will engage external conservators to treat nine murals and three stretched canvas paintings. Key project activities will include cleaning, repairing, consolidation of flaking paint, and ordering new custom stretchers for the works. The conservators will provide a treatment report and before-and-after photo documentation. The project will enhance the visitor experience and confirm the center’s responsibility to steward highly visible works with the same rigor applied to collections held in controlled storage.
