Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum

The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum (PHAM) will stabilize, catalog, and rehouse the Sidd Pratt Collection and associated WWII Pacific theater archives. The collection comprises over 22,000 items, including rare flight suits, military uniforms, and oversized technical drawings. Project activities include improving infrastructure and access for staff to facilitate simultaneous data entry and oversight for staff, interns, and volunteers. The museum will also implement professional mold remediation and pest quarantine protocols for better stabilization and relocate vulnerable textiles and paper archives into archival-grade micro-environments. This project will benefit hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, including Hawaii residents, mainland U.S. visitors, international tourists, military families, veterans, educators, students, and scholars. The museum’s educational, research, and curatorial activities support broader access to Pacific aviation history through traveling exhibitions, scholarly research support, and digital outreach that extends well beyond Hawaii.
