Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden will improve herbarium storage and accessibility by installing a Spacesaver Mobile System and 60 additional herbarium storage cases. Collection specimens, currently stored in sub-optimal cramped conditions, will be redistributed and annotated, with damaged folders and labels replaced, and nearly a thousand Cactaceae and Agavaceae herbarium specimens will be processed and added to the main collection. This collections stewardship project will vastly improve the long-term viability and accessibility of the collection while supporting the needs of the Garden and herbarium's multiple stakeholders.
