Loyola University Chicago (Loyola University Museum of Art)

Log Number: MA-31-14-0249-14

The Loyola University Museum of Art will conserve two Italian 15th-century cassoni, or marriage chests, from its recently acquired John F. Cuneo, Sr., Collection of European Art. The museum will display these pieces in the well-regulated environment of the museum's galleries, interpret the pieces for the enjoyment and enlightenment of the museum's diverse audience, and raise awareness of the particular conservation needs of the Cuneo Collection. The project will promote the museum's duty as a responsible steward of art and conserve two significant examples of 15th-century Renaissance art that have suffered from environmental exposure.
