The Museum of Northern Arizona will utilize the services of two consulting conservators to develop a rehousing and collections move plan for 2,380 works on paper and paintings in its fine arts collection, which will be moved from their current storage area to the museum's environmentally sound Easton Collection Center. The museum will achieve this goal by determining which works require flat, rack, or bin storage; calculating the amount of storage furniture required; determining mat sizes required; calculating the amount and type of acid-free rehousing required; determining the current overall condition of the collection; determining solutions for eradicating pests from the collection; and identifying a safe pathway for moving the artwork to the collection center. Completion of this project will provide the museum with accurate information on the amount of space required for the proper storage of its fine arts collection.
