Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area (Toledo Botanical Garden)

Toledo Botanical Garden will increase its capacity to more effectively manage its botanical collections by improving documentation and upgrading obsolete curatorial equipment. The garden will establish an intern position to work with the plant records curator, and will purchase new equipment, including display labels, an embosser, a tablet, and a computer and monitor. Project activities will also include hiring and training seasonal employees, contracting with an engraving company, installing labels, mapping collections, reconciling the plant records database with maps, and continuing to stabilize the existing program while establishing a plant collection and mapping program that is appropriate for the garden. Upgrading equipment and allowing for intern support will ensure the garden is able to fulfill its role as a botanical resource for the region.
