The Carnegie Institute’s Andy Warhol Museum will lead an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) training program that will engage all staff at their museum as well as the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and the Carnegie Science Center. Project activities include hiring an IDEA Administrator, creating staff learning cohorts, and developing and launching staff trainings in in-person and online formats with support from external partners. The trainings will increase understanding of inherent biases, build a shared understanding of IDEA-related issues, increase cultural competence, and shift organizational culture. An independent evaluator will assess progress and opportunities for future trainings. The project will help support a safe, inclusive, and equitable workplace—benefits that will extend to the museums’ audiences.
