Florida International University (The Wolfsonian)

Log Number: ME-251662-OMS-22

The Wolfsonian will expand the professional development opportunities that it offers to undergraduate and graduate students at Florida International University, a designated Hispanic Serving Institution. The museum will build on an existing program by increasing the number of paid graduate student assistantships that provide training in research and collection data management. Project activities will also include converting all undergraduate internships to paid status, offering up to seven positions each semester targeted at students experiencing financial need. Interns will receive an expanded program of training opportunities such as workshops, expert talks from industry leaders from around the country, and field trips to local cultural institutions. The project will support more than 50 students from diverse communities with opportunities to build professional skills, knowledge, and networks, which will help open pathways to museum careers.
