Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum

The Carter G. Woodson African American Museum will plan, design, and create specifications for all equipment and furnishings necessary to establish a state-of-the-art, secure collections storage space within the new museum facility. By working with top professionals in collections management and care, staff at the Woodson Museum will gain expert knowledge in assessing storage needs, planning and design of collections storage spaces and selecting appropriate storage systems. Staff will become familiar will best practices and field-wide standards for collections storage and care, including environmental care and monitoring, and storage needs of various types of collections materials. As a result of this project, the museum will be able to create collections storage that will provide the best care for a growing collection.
