John Gilmore Riley Foundation (Florida African American Heritage Preservation Network)

The John Gilmore Riley Foundation in cooperation with the Florida African American Heritage Preservation Network (FAAHPN) will create a new podcast series highlighting some of the thirty African American history museums and historical societies dedicated to preserving, promoting, and educating the public about the rich African American heritage in Florida. FAAPHN will produce and broadcast video and audio versions of monthly podcasts featuring a minimum of 15 out of 30 museums in the FAAHPN consortium, providing 35- to 45-minute episodes highlighting main and feature exhibits and educational historical information. The episodes will bring in area historians and citizens to share oral histories and experiences that will provide opportunities for engagements such as survey collection and questions and answers by follow-up episodes. The podcasts will be available across multiple platforms, including FAAHPN’s YouTube channel, GIFT TV on Roku, Spotify, and other popular podcast platforms.
